HONEYWELL TDC-3000 System Support
ARCO Los Angeles Refinery

Provided all levels of assistance to HONEYWELL in assembling, installing, moving and modifying new/existing TDC-3000 consoles, universal stations, engineering consoles, process managers (PN4) and LCN cabinet. Installed fiber optic patch panels, fiber optic cable and data cable. Also, provided installation of TRIAD instrumentation grounding for isolation of TDC equipment.

 

Completed TDC equipment includes NACCR (North Area Central Control Room) and SACCR (South Area Central Control Room), as well as other major control rooms throughout the refinery. Mounted fiber optic data concentrator and battery back-up unit at bottom of fiber optic backbone patch panel cabinet. Ran two new 120 VAC circuits. Connected fiber optic jumpers.

Assisted in moving two new TDC-3000 universal stations into positions at the S&H control room and the gasoline blender.


North Area Central Control Room - DCS Equipment Installation
Texaco, Wilmington Refinery

Installation of new HONEYWELL TDC equipment for a central control room. Installation included control equipment for the central control room consisting of multiple clustered control consoles, dozens of relocated emergency shutdown switches and various monitoring and alarm systems. Project also included a distributed and redundant ABF fiber optic communication system. Cutover of process and shutdown systems performed on-line.

Project located in the Los Angeles Refinery and the off site Sulfur Plant. Critical path project completed on schedule.

 

SCADA System I & E
Huntway Refinery, Wilmington, CA.

Install pipeline SCADA panel, components, instruments, conduit, wiring and tubing. Calibration, Loop check and PLC program logic check. Work was performed in conjunction with Mangan Inc. on a turnkey basis. Hot cutover and critical time frame. Completed on schedule.

 

Flare Monitoring Systems I & E
Equilon Refinery, Wilmington, CA.
Cenco Refinery, Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Flare monitoring analyzers. Installation of Panametrics ultrasonic flowmeter and Texas Sampling gas sampler for flare monitoring. Install conduit, wire, tubing, calibration and loop check. Hot cutover and critical time frame. Completed on schedule.

LAR, Sulfur Plant Conversion
ARCO, Carson Refinery

Purchase all bulk materials. Conversion of operating unit controlled by pneumatics to TDC 3000 control system. Install all conduit, wiring, tubing and instruments to provide timely hot conversion. Install Emergency Shutdown system and associated instruments, conduit, wiring and tubing. Loop check of all systems prior to hot cutover. Conversion completed with no process upsets and an impeccable safety record.

 

FCC revamp and turnaround
Ultramar Refinery, Wilmington

Installation of new instrumentation and associated conduit and wiring for new controls added/replaced in the FCC. Calibration, installation, loop check and start up assistance. Instrumentation support for maintenance items. CSI supplied the instrument bulk materials.

Fire Damage Rebuild Project
Lonza, Inc., Huntington Park, California

The reactor structure consists of twenty-three pre-fab modules erected at the jobsite. We were responsible to provide a complete operating system including completion of the Reactor Building Instrumentation System (PLC) with calibration and installation of instruments. We supplied the instrument bulk materials and loop check of all instrument loops.

 

LAP, Install Air Blown Fiber Optic System
Equilon, Wilmington Refinery

Install tube cables, fiber distribution boxes and fiber optic cables throughout the Los Angeles Plant per Sumitomo Future Flex Air Blown Fiber recommended procedures.

 

Truck Rack Tank Farm Control Upgrade
ARCO, Vinvalle Loading Facility

Modernization and expansion of tank farm / truck rack controls, with the installation of new process instrumentation and the replacement of several obsolete controllers with new programmable logic controllers. Replacements were performed either on-line or in constricted outage periods.

 

NACR DCS Equipment Installation
Texaco, Wilmington Refinery

Installation of HONEYWELL TDC operating stations in a new central control room, with relocation of operating personnel from several local control rooms. Installation includes all control equipment for the central control room, consisting of multiple clustered control consoles, dozens of relocated emergency shutdown switches and various monitoring and alarm systems, and all required communication, power and grounding raceway and cabling. Project also will install a distributed and redundant fiber optic communication system through half of the plant. Cutover of process and shutdown systems will be performed on-line. Work is being performed in conjunction with Mangan Inc. on a turnkey EPC contract basis.

Laboratory Analytical System Revisions

Replacement of temporary analytical sample system tubing with thirty-five new stainless steel tubing lines from bottleracks to new Horiba analyzer.

Installation of dozens of process analyzers and automated sampling systems for on-line reformulated fuels analysis. Installation included multiple plant locations, assorted programmable logic controllers and data concentrators, a refinery wide fiber optic data acquisition system and communication connection to the plant DCS and LAN.

Complete design and fabrication of a Mass Spectrometer panel with related analyzers, sample systems and miscellaneous instrumentation.

Modernization and conversion of existing hydro-cracker, hydrogen and jet hydro-treater unit shutdown and interlock control systems, from Simplex relay-based to triple-redundant, programmable logic control. Fabrication of test panels for triple-redundant system. Installation of all panels, instruments, loop-checks, and commissioning.

Development of a redundant, refinery-wide data acquisition installation from numerous, continuous emission monitoring cabinets to TDC LCN'S, history modules and the Refinery DECNet. Installation of remote, programmable logic controllers, centralized data concentrators, gateways and history modules, with all accompanying configuration and programming.

 

Tank 52 SPPL MOV Additions
ARCO Los Angeles Refinery

Installation of new PLC-based remote controls for twenty (20) (8 new and 12 existing) motor-operated valves. Included multiple remote controllers, installation of a data highway, routing through most of the Tank Farm, and the onsite testing and conversion of the existing controls.

 

Coker Burn Replacement
ARCO Los Angeles Refinery

Participation in the reconstruction team responsible for the replacement of damaged electrical and instrument installation. Included round-the-clock coverage, testing and commissioning.

 

FCCU Conversion to TDC
ARCO Los Angeles Refinery

Converted pneumatic to electronic controls by means of TDC-3000 and on-line transfer. Installation of all instruments and process tubing. Performed loop-check and commissioning.
 

Shell LAR Refinery - DCU Fire Repair

Repair and replacement of conduit, wire, instruments and equipment systems related to the DCU fire of March 2003.

Chevron El Segundo Refinery 6H2S Regeneration Project- 8/06-4/07
